This address used to hold an article examining the global nature of the English language in terms of the relative numerical strengths of British, American, and Indian dialects of English. Unfortunately there was a major system failure at our web host and the article was lost. A new version will at some stage be written, which is advantageous as the original article was based on out of date statistics that did not recognize that the Indian dialect had overtaken the British dialect to become the second most numerous variety after American English.
